Coffee

Who would have thought it would be so hard. I speak and people just stare at me. The language is incredibly difficult. I found a nice veggie place last night, and had some coffee and bread this morning after watching the locals do calesthenics in the park. I am going to make arrangements to get my bus ticket for tomorrow when I head out of town. Wish me luck. I watched some chickens get their throats cut this morning. I saw some that had been stripped of feathers and I wondered where they came from. I then noticed the cage full of live ones and figured that must be where. It's all out in the open here...

My Darling,
Tonight I keep trying to call your room, they say it rings busy..but I wonder if they mean it just keeps ringing with no answer? Their English is as bad as your Vietnamese!
I just need to hear your voice again. I miss you so terribly, after one day, and I can't wait for my darling to come home so I can kiss your sweet face!!
I love you my sweetheart.

I can see this is going to be a recurring theme but maybe I should have given you more of a heads up on the language... don't get too discourgaged by the reaction you are getting, believe me, on my visits to the north I tried to use my "southern" accent on the locals and I was getting the same looks you are getting now, and I had been there a few years! Just start simple: pho, cafe den, anh chay (vegetarian), master a small set then move on to a next set. Sounds like you are learning you way around though. Have fun!

Not to panic, mi friend, you'll be ok without Peets' coffee during your trp. Also, wish you well.
Seem that the adveture is worth a lot. Living for x number of days outside your confort zone is always a solid experience.
Best of the best,

Julio
Note:
You are a winner!
Again, no to worrry, live life, people loves you.

"My Vietnamese is so bad, the pronunciation is so difficult, that they just stare at me as I try to speak the language."

...always my reaction to you.
